Building evidence of competence without a certification to point to

EN 18274, the emerging European competence framework for this role, does not have a sittable exam yet. That leaves a real gap for anyone trying to demonstrate competence today rather than once a credentialing body eventually catches up, and the gap is closeable, just not with another LinkedIn badge.

Documented findings over described competence

A CV line describing familiarity with a framework is weak evidence. A dated, specific finding, this deployment, this risk, this recommendation, this outcome, is strong evidence, and it is evidence a hiring organisation can actually evaluate rather than take on trust. Building this record deliberately, from the first engagement onward, is the single highest-leverage habit available before any certification exists.

The dated record, kept consistently

Keep a private, dated log of findings, recommendations, and outcomes across engagements, written at the time, not reconstructed from memory during an interview. It does not need to be shared verbatim with anyone. Its value is that it lets you speak about your own record with precision rather than generality, which is itself a credibility signal.

What a hiring organisation actually checks

Fewer of them ask for a certificate than you might expect, and more of them ask for a specific example.
