Find your ethicist

Tell us what you are carrying.

One short brief and a person gets back to you, usually within two working days, with a way forward and what it actually takes to get there. No account to create, no sales sequence.

Worth knowing: 55% of enterprises are now actively deploying AI, but only 26% say their governance keeps pace with it (Smarsh & FTI Consulting, 2026). That gap is usually structural, not a hiring failure, and it is exactly what this page exists to close.
The conversation worth having is not just "are we compliant," it is "what are we optimising for, and what kind of organisation are we becoming." That is not a cost centre. It is a strategic capability: the decisions it protects build trust, resilience, and long-term value.
Before you brief us

Is this role built for real ethics, not just paperwork?

Nine quick questions on the structure and the culture around the role, no email required. Answer how things actually are today, not how you would like them to be.

Structure

1. Who would the ethicist answer to?

2. Do they have a real route to be heard if a finding gets softened on the way up?

3. Could raising an unwelcome finding quietly cost them the engagement?

4. Is there a fixed end date for the role, so independence gets renewed on purpose?

5. Are conflicts of interest, and confidentiality, declared as a matter of course rather than left to memory?

Values & culture

6. Has this organisation ever changed a decision, a launch, or a design because of an ethical finding, not just a legal one?

7. If a finding contradicted what the business wanted to hear, would raising it be treated as doing the job right?

8. Is AI ethics something this organisation actually values, or mainly a risk to be managed?

9. Would this organisation be comfortable if the ethicist’s full reasoning on a hard call, not a summary of it, were shared with the people actually affected by it?

10. When this organisation says “AI ethics,” does that already include what a system does to users psychologically, trust, dependency, sense of self, or does it mainly mean data privacy and bias?

SCORE 0 / 20

Fix it in the first call →

Measured against our own independence terms and against whether the culture around the role can actually hold an honest answer, not a pass/fail test. Every score is fixable before day one.

How we work with you

We start from the risk you are carrying, not from a rate card. You tell us the shape of the need; we tell you which of placement, fractional, or rotation actually fits, even when that is the smallest option. Then we match, evidence, and set the terms so the role has authority from day one.

How we stay straight: the ethicists we place never pay us, and we never rank them. Competence is evidenced independently, with the reasoning shown to you, and every engagement carries our published Independence Charter.
